![]() Why a character listens to a complete lecture of an historical subject he/she already knows? Well, because the reader does not know, but I kept wondering, during my lecture, why no one stop anyone when they keep narrating a subject everyone already knows. The reason is simple, sometimes, while the characters speak together, they do not seem to actually “talk” with each other but are mostly sharing information. Since Hobb create a lot of interesting characters and make them progress in a long story, I find the dialogues /monologues aberrant. ![]() Maybe it is just concerning the Livership Traders Trilogy, but I cannot deal with the dialogues. I will address only one point: the storytelling. As I said, I did read a lot of Hobb’s works, but I did not find them to be as perfect as I can read from almost all the reviews I could find of her stories. As I finished the first book of the Liveship Traders Trilogy, I think I found my problem with Hobb’s writing.īefore anything, I want to point out that this is not a critic to show how Robin Hobb’s books are bad. ![]() ![]() Still, I kept my weird feeling about Hobb’s writing. I still completed the whole collection of books based on Fitz since I did had pleasure in discovering the progression of a character in such a long timeline. While looking for some diverse point of views about the works of Robin Hobb, I started to believe I was just not the target of the story. I struggled most of the time with how the plots were set in the story. My reading of Fitz’ adventures left me with a weird feeling. ![]()
